St. Gabriel the Archangel Church and School and St. Joseph School in Bardstown, Ky., will each host an event to recycle obsolete electronic equipment.
St. Gabriel will host its “Electronics Recycling Event” May 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 5505 Bardstown Road.
Acceptable items to recycle include: televisions, monitors, computers, laptops, LCD televisions, printers, fax machines, cell phones, keyboards and mice.
Also accepted are DVD and CD players, stereo equipment, networking equipment, telephones and office equipment.
Due to hazardous materials disposal costs, there will be a $5 cash charge for each CRT television and monitor recycled at this event.
The “Electronics Drop Off Day” at St. Joseph School will be held in the school parking lot, 320 West Stephen Foster Avenue, June 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Acceptable electronics include: cables, CD-ROM drives, cell phones, circuit boards, computer speakers, docking stations, DVD players, fax machines, hard drives, keyboards, mice, mainframes, modems, personal copiers, printers, processor chips, scanners, servers, tape and disc drives, terminals and VCR players.
All items will be accepted free of charge except monitors, microwaves and televisions. A $5 cash fee will be charged to recycle each of these items.
A portion of the proceeds from the Electronics Drop Off Day at St. Joseph will benefit Catholic Charities of Louisville.
