The St. Aloysius Eagles from Pewee Valley, Ky., won their school’s first Toy Bowl Championship Nov. 3 at St. Xavier High School when they defeated the St. Bernard School Wildcats 32 to 6 to win the Class 6A title. The contest marked the first time in the 64-year history of the Toy Bowl that St. Aloysius made it to the championship game.
In Class 6AA, the St. Nicholas/St. Rita Panthers defeated St. Albert the Great Vikings by a score of 13 to 10, and in the 6AAA title game, the Holy Trinity Eagles won 8 to 0 over the St. Patrick Celtics.
In the eighth-grade championships, the St. Albert/St. Aloysius Vikings defeated the St. Gabriel Leopards 14 to 8. The St. Mary Academy Monarchs won the 8A title by defeating the St. Edward School Braves 8 to 6. In division 8AA, the St. Patrick Celtics defeated the Notre Dame/St. Paul Saints 34 to 14.
Girls’ volleyball championships were decided at four locations — Holy Cross High School, Presentation Academy, St. Rita and Holy Spirit schools — in recent weeks. The winners were:
