Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville earned a number of top honors in the 2018 regional Governor’s Cup high school and middle school competitions.
In region five high school competition, Bethlehem High School in Bardstown, Ky., placed first in quick recall and finished second overall.
In individual assessments Alex Brown of Bethlehem placed second in composition.
In region six high school competition, DeSales High School placed third in quick recall. Presentation Academy placed second in future problem solving and third overall.
In individual assessments Miranda Atkinson of Presentation Academy placed first in composition and Brianna Bragg of Holy Cross High School placed second.
In region seven high school competition, St. Xavier High School placed first in future problem solving and second overall. Trinity High School placed second in quick recall and future problem solving.
In individual assessments, Caroline Hamilton of Sacred Heart Academy placed first in social studies; Nell Rydzewski of Sacred Heart Academy placed first in arts and humanities; Zack Schneider of St. Xavier placed second in science; Carson Ching of St. Xavier placed second in social studies and Luke McFarland of Trinity placed second in language arts.
