The Bluegrass Farmers’ Market will return to Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, on May 14.
The market will continue to operate each Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the spring, summer and fall in the main parking lot of the hospital at 1850 Bluegrass Avenue.
The market will offer a variety of fresh produce, meat and eggs. Many items are produced by resettled refugees, an announcement from the hospital said.
“Farmers’ markets are a wonderful community asset and a great place to find healthy, locally grown food items,” said Jennifer Nolan, president of Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. “We hope hosting this event helps make fresh produce available to our friends and neighbors in South Louisville.”
In addition, families that receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) may shop at the market.
