A new three and one half story gate will welcome visitors to Bellarmine University’s campus. The 36-foot, 200-ton St. Robert Gate stands at the main entrance of the university on Newburg Road.

The gate is made of pre-cast concrete with a brick finish and will bear the school’s name and seal. It was donated by Bellarmine alumni Nick and Gincy Carosi, along with Arban & Carosi, an architectural precast concrete firm in Virginia, according to a news release from the school.

The archway honors the university’s namesake, St. Robert Bellarmine.
