St. Leonard students raise money for teacher

Students in St. Leonard School’s Anastasia House organized a fundraiser last month called “Hats Off To Nancy” which raised more than $800 for Nancy Tomassetti, the school’s librarian, who is receiving treatment for cancer.

The group shared stories with the rest of the school about Tomassetti’s battle with cancer. Each student was asked to donate $1 in exchange for the opportunity to wear a hat and a scarf or $2 to wear a hat, scarf and jeans. The students presented an over-sized check to Tomassetti on April 25.
