St. Leonard parish will hold ‘recycling event’ April 13

The St. Leonard Church Environmental Club, together with A to Z Recycling, Commonwealth Computer Recycling, DDC of Kentucky and the Louisville Biodiesel Cooperative, is sponsoring a recycling event at the church on April 13.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on the St. Leonard campus, 440 Zorn Ave. There will be no charge for the disposing of obsolete electronic equipment, including computers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, game systems, cell phones and ink toner cartridges. Also available will be document destruction — papers, folders, ID’s, credit cards, discs and more will be shredded and used cooking oil will also be collected.

Each person dropping off items is asked to donate something listed on the Kentucky Humane Society’s wish list. The parish environmental club will receive $1 for every tower, laptop or tablet computer received, and proceeds will go to a campus beautification project.
