St. Lawrence to celebrate 60th anniversary

St. Lawrence Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive, will celebrate its 60th anniversary this weekend. On Aug. 3, the parish will hold a Mass at 5:30 p.m. followed by a talent and variety show in the parish hall at 7 p.m. Pizza will be sold for $1 a slice beginning at 6 p.m.

On Aug. 4, the anniversary celebration will continue with a Mass of celebration at 10:30 a.m. It will be followed by a festival from noon to 4 p.m. on the parish grounds and in the parish hall. It will include hamburgers, bratwurst and hot dogs and a covered-dish potluck; booths; face painting and other fellowship. Everything will be free except for novelty and hand-dipped ice cream and beer.

The parish also will be selling commemorative T-shirts and an anniversary cookbook of parish family recipes.
