Father Mueller, Louisville native, celebrates jubilee

Benedictine Father Noël Mueller, a native of Louisville and a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad, Ind., is celebrating the golden jubilee of his monastic profession.

He professed monastic vows on Aug. 15, 1963. He was ordained a priest on Sept. 22, 1968.

Father Mueller served at Saint Meinrad’s mission in Huaraz, Peru, as a teacher from 1969 to 1980. He also served in the Office of Liturgy and Marriage Encounter in the Diocese of Huaraz.

He earned a master’s degree in English literature from the University of Louisville in 1985 and taught for 13 years at Saint Meinrad College.

Currently, he serves as the secretary to the archabbot and as a spiritual director and retreat director.
