St. James seventh-grader wins art contest

Anthony Pike, a seventh-grader at St. James School in Elizabethtown, was one of the winners of the 2017-2018 Christmas art contest sponsored by the Missionary Childhood Association.

A Mass was held in December at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., in honor of the winners. The winning pieces of art were displayed in the basilica through Jan. 6, the Feast of the Epiphany.

The Missionary Childhood Association is an international organization dedicated to fostering children’s awareness of the missionary nature of the Catholic church.
