St. Francis Xavier packs meals for hungry

Parishioners of St. Francis Xavier Church in Mt. Washington, Ky., packaged and donated 24,408 meals that will be sent to people facing food shortages by Love the Hungry (formerly known as Kids Against Hunger — Louisville), a nonprofit organization that provides nutrient-rich meals to children. The parish raised $5,832, with $1,546 coming from the parish’s religious education students.

Jude Bischoff, a fifth-grader who attends St. Francis Xavier Church, packed meals at the parish. He gave $30 of his birthday money to help feed those in need.
