St. Catharine raises more than $450,000 at inaugural fundraiser

St. Catharine College in Springfield, Ky., held the largest fundraising event in its history March 22, collecting more than $450,000 at the school’s inaugural President’s Scholarship Dinner.

The funds were raised through event sponsorships, table sponsorships and individual donors, according to an announcement from the school. About 350 people from around the state attended the event.

“Because scholarships have become a critical need for the college, the inaugural President’s Scholarship Dinner was started,” said Dr. Cindy Gnadinger, president of St. Catharine College, in the announcement.

“This will be an annual event that will take place in the fall. This year’s event took place in the spring because of scheduling difficulties, but future dinners will be held in the fall.”

Among the evening’s entertainers were Katie George, former Miss Kentucky, who served as the emcee for the evening in the school’s Lourdes Hall gymnasium.

Five current students and one alumnus also shared their stories of attending St. Catharine including Cody Cooper, Iris Porras Garcia, Sathya Govindasamy, Ramie Goldey, Seron Martin and Kameron Lackey.
