St. Bernadette parish to begin program series on ‘Catholocism’

St. Bernadette Church near Norton Commons will soon began a series of programs called “Catholicism,” which will help Catholics learn more and become more familiar with what the church believes and teaches.

The series is based on a multimedia program created by Father Robert Barron, rector of St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein, Ill.

“Catholicism” will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. beginning Aug. 22. Other sessions will be held Aug. 22 and 29; Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26; Oct. 3, Nov. 28 and Dec. 5 and 12. The program will be held in the Soubirous Room of the St. Bernadette Parish Center for all but two sessions — on Sept. 19 and Dec. 12 attendees will meet in the Lourdes and John Paul rooms of the center.

Childcare will be provided for those families who need it and can be obtained by calling Bob Sugrue at 815-3105.

Each of the Wednesday sessions will include a combination of prayer, watching the video and a discussion of the evening’s topic.
