St. Aloysius remembers Sept. 11

Photo Special to The Record St. Aloysius remembers Sept. 11 Sixth- and seventh-grade students from St. Aloysius School in Pewee Valley, Ky., visited the Pewee Valley Fire Protection District, where all firefighters are volunteers, to commemorate the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The students learned from the firefighters about the 343 firefighters who lost their lives that day. The helmets, in the foreground, represent them. The students also gathered around the flagpole and observed a moment of silence at 9:03 a.m, when Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11. It was the second of two hijacked planes to strike the towers.
