On March 16, St. Albert the Great School held its 17th annual St. Baldrick’s event to raise awareness and funding for childhood cancer research. Students and families from Our Lady of Lourdes School also participated in the event this year.

More than 90 people participated in the event, where people shave their heads to raise money or donate long hair. The event raised more than $80,000, bringing the school’s total donations to St. Baldrick’s Foundation to $1.2 million in 17 years.

In addition, 60 people donated their ponytails to Children with Hair Loss, a non-profit organization that provides hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medical-related hair loss.
