Spalding’s next Literary Salon take place Nov. 5

Spalding University’s next Literary Salon is set for Nov. 5 at Hillbilly Tea, 120 S. First St. The event begins with an open microphone session at 7 p.m. followed by a featured reading at 7:30 p.m..

The featured reader will be Crystal Wilkinson, a fiction writer and professor of creative writing. She is the Appalachian Writer-in-Residence at Berea College and teaches in Spalding’s master of fine arts creative-writing program.

The event is designed for writers to share and discuss their unpublished work with one another. Those who’d like to read during the open microphone session may sign up at 6:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Spalding’s bachelor of fine arts in writing program.
