Spalding University conferred 585 degrees during commencement exercises May 9 at The Galt House Hotel.

Keynote speaker and former Olympic gymnast Dominique Dawes received an honorary degree and addressed the school’s 167 undergraduate and 418 graduate students.

Dawes, a convert to the Catholic faith, told the graduates, “Each and every one of you, remember you are children of God.”
