Spalding University announced it is now offering a post-master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
According to a news release from the university, the DNP builds on its master’s-level family nurse practitioner program and meets the call of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) for a terminal degree in nursing. The hybrid course — a two-year program developed for the working nursing professional — allows students to complete courses online with a total of three campus visits over the duration of the program.
“This degree will prepare professional nurses for roles in advanced practice, leadership, management and education positions,” says Delwin Jacoby, DNP, APRN, program director. “Focus will be on collaboration with other members of the healthcare team, to develop quality improvement initiatives in healthcare based on the best evidence for practice, patient advocacy and health policy development.”
