Sisters of Charity of Nazareth hold General Assembly

The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth held their General Assembly May 26 to June 7 where the congregation elected new leadership, updated their vision statement and formed directives.

Sister Susan Gatz was elected the new president, while Sisters Sangeeta Ayithamattam and Brenda Gonzalez were named the new vice presidents.

The congregation’s new vision statement reads: “We will promote the dignity and equality of women and other oppressed people in Church and society.”

The assembly’s directives focused on four main areas important to the order — spirituality, community life, church and mission.
