Sisters of Charity of Nazareth receive Ky. Interfaith Power and Light award

SCNLogo2015Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light (KIPL) will present its Hope in Action award to three religious groups at a ceremony set for Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 330 N. Hubbards Lane.

The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth will receive one of three Hope in Action Awards, which recognize faith communities doing good work in caring for creation.

“The creation care movement has grown immensely in 2016 as we saw congregations continue to mobilize creation care teams, engage in energy conservation education, reduce their energy use through efficiency projects and add renewable energy through solar installations,” an announcement from KIPL said.

In addition to the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, KIPL is also presenting Hope in Action awards to Lexington Friends and Union Church of Berea.

Tickets to the awards event are $35 and include food and live music. Proceeds will support the work of KIPL, which helps faith communities improve their care for creation. For more information, visit www.kentuckyipl.org.
