Sister Rose Eleanor Perry, a teacher, dies at age 86

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Rose Eleanor Perry (formerly Rosalie Perry) died  Oct. 27 at Nazareth Home. She 86 and had been an SCN for 65 years.

Sister Perry served as a teacher in Mississippi and Kentucky, including the Dioceses of Owensboro and Covington.

She also served in pastoral ministry and as chaplain at Our Lady of Peace Hospital for more than 20 years.

She had lived at Nazareth Home since 2003, volunteering in hospitality services, as an organist and as a choir assistant.

Sister Perry is survived by her sisters, Rita Wallace and Sarah Haden, her extended family and her religious community.

A prayer vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. in St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky., on Oct. 29.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Oct. 30 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vincent Church, followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.
