Sister of Charity of Nazareth Shirley Nugent, formerly Sister Daniel Maria, died on July 11, 2019, at Nazareth Home at the age of 87. She was a professed member of her community for 66 years.
Sister Nugent, a native of Brighton, Mass., served as an educator in schools in Kentucky, Ohio
She served as provincial superior of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth from 1974 until 1980. She later served in clinical pastoral education and in spiritual direction.
The visitation and prayer service will be held on July 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Nazareth Home Chapel, 2000 Newburg Road.
The wake will be held at 6:30 p.m. on July 14 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Nazareth, Ky.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial will follow in the Nazareth Cemetery.
