Sister of Charity of Nazareth Loretta Weller, an educator dies at 97

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Loretta Weller, formerly Sister Mary Hugh, died June 2 in Nazareth, Ky. She was 97 and had been an SCN for 66 years.

Sister Weller, a native of Newport, Ky., ministered as an educator in Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio. In Kentucky, Sister Weller taught at Immaculate Conception School in Newport and as a religion teacher and principal at St. Mary School in Paris, Ky. She also served Annunciation Church in Paris in pastoral ministry.

Sister Weller served her community as a mailroom clerk at the Motherhouse and as a guest house assistant welcoming those who stayed there.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, members of her extended family and by members of her religious community.

She was buried in Nazareth Cemetery.
