Sister Mary Pauletta Kane, a teacher, dies at age 92

SCNLogo2015Sister of Charity of Nazareth Mary Pauletta Kane died July 8 in Nazareth, Ky. She was 92 and in her 67th year of religious life.

Sister Kane, a native of Boston, Mass., served as a high school teacher in Massachusetts and Kentucky.
She also served as director of novices at Nazareth from 1966 to 1971.

She served the SCN community in regional leadership in Quincy, Mass., from 1991 to 1996 and later as Motherhouse coordinator. Sister Kane served in parish ministry in Kentucky and Virginia.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews and members of her religious community.
Visitation will be held July 14 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent Church in Nazareth. A prayer vigil will follow at 6:30 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated July 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Church followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.
