Sister Margaret Willis, an educator, dies at 77

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Margaret Willis (formerly Sister John Vincent) died April 1 at Nazareth Home. She was 77 and had been a professed SCN for 51 years.

Sister Willis, a native of Boston, served as an educator for most of her ministry. She taught math and served as principal of Bethlehem High School in Bardstown, Ky., from 1968 to 1995. She also taught math at Assumption High School from 1996 until she retired in 2017.

She is survived by her sister Patricia Ann Willis and her religious community.

Visitation and prayer service will be April 4, at 1:30 p.m. in Nazareth Home’s Chapel. The wake will begin at 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent on April 5 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Nazareth Cemetery.

Also, stuffed animal donations for Toys for Tots may be brought to the wake service.
