Sister M. Rosaire Miltenberger, teacher and speech clinician, dies at age 95

Ursuline Sister of Louisville M. Rosaire Miltenberger, 95, died April 8 at Mercy Sacred Heart Village. She had been an Ursuline Sister since 1935.

Sister Miltenberger, a native of Ridgeley, W.Va., spent the first 28 years of her ministry as a teacher in Louisville Catholic schools, including Holy Spirit, St. Raphael, St. Francis of Assisi and Our Lady of Lourdes. She also served in schools in South Carolina, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Sister Miltenberger also served as a clinician and director of the Ursuline Speech and Hearing Clinic. The last 20 years of her ministry focused on spiritual direction and retreat work in Peru and Louisville.

She is survived by her brothers, Leo Miltenberger of Finleyville, Penn., and Fidelis Miltenberger of Cumberland, Md.; a sister, Gladys McDaniel of Hodgeville, W. Va.; nieces and nephews; and the Ursuline Community.

Visitation will be at the Ursuline Motherhouse, 3115 Lexington Road, on April 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a Vigil service at 7 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated April 11 at 10 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel, with interment in St. Michael Cemetery.
