Sister Judy Donohue makes first vows as a Sister of Charity of Nazareth

The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth recently announced that Judy Donohue will make the first profession of vows Aug. 26 at 2 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Nazareth, Ky.

Sister Donohue, a native of Lexington, Ky., graduated from Lexington Catholic High School and the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. She also earned a master’s degree in pastoral studies from the Lexington Theological Seminary.

Sister Donohue, 55, worked at St. Joseph Hospital as a chaplain for 13 years. It was there she met Sister of Charity of Nazareth Angela Wethington, who later invited her to become an SCN associate.

After nine years as an associate, Sister Donohue decided to enter the SCNs, according to a statement from the community. She has four brothers, two sisters, two nephews, one niece and two great-nieces.
