Sister Helen Prejean to discuss the death penalty at Bellarmine Nov. 11

Sister Helen Prejean, author of “Dead Man Walking,” will give a free presentation in Hilary’s at Bellarmine University, 2001 Newburg Road, on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Sister Prejean counsels death-row inmates and educates the public about the death penalty and its flaws. She has accompanied six men to their deaths, according to her website, sisterhelen.org.

The public is invited to attend the presentation and free-will offerings will be accepted. Her books, “Dead Man Walking” and “Death of Innocents: An Eyewitness Account of Wrongful Executions” will be available for purchase.
