Sister Conklin, former Spalding professor, dies

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Anna Marie Conklin, formerly Sister Josepha, died at Nazareth Home May 16. She was a professed SCN for 60 years.

Sister Conklin, 86, served as a professor of English at Spalding University from 1974 to 1997.

She also served in educational ministries in Tennessee, Kansas, Massachusetts and in the Diocese of Covington, Ky.

She is survived by members of her extended family and her religious community.

A visitation and prayer service will be held May 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Nazareth Home Chapel, 2000 Newburg Road. A wake will be held May 20 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Nazareth, Ky.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent. Burial will be in Nazareth Cemetery.
