Shively Area Ministries will hold its 10th annual Music of Ministry dinner and concert by The Monarchs on Sept. 26 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 830 Phillips Lane. Doors will open at 6 p.m.; the event will start at 6:30 p.m.
Two special awards will be given during the event.
The Sister Darlene Make a Difference Award will be given to Adam Hall, vice president of community development for Fifth Third Bank, for his volunteer hours, membership on several boards and work to address homelessness. The award is given to the individual or group who reflects the qualities of the late Sister Darlene Denton, an Ursuline Sister of Maple Mount, Ky., who was a board chair of Shively Area Ministries.
The Roxanna Trivitt Enthusiasm for Mission Award is given to an individual or group who reflects the qualities of Roxanna Trivitt, the former director of Shively Area Ministries. Briargate Presbyterian, a member church of the ministry, will receive this award.
St. Lawrence Church’s Senior Group and several other groups will be honored as partners in ministry.
Tickets are $50 per person or $450 for a table of 10. All proceeds will go to support the programs of emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, medicine, eye glasses, food pantry, and education classes. For more information or tickets, call 447-4330, ext. 23 by Sept. 12.
