Sharing the bounty in thanksgiving

Vincenzo’s, an Italian restaurant in downtown Louisville, provided a Thanksgiving meal to people in need at the Cathedral of the Assumption on Nov. 20. Read the full story here.

Eight people from the restaurant, including Chef Agostino Gabriele, volunteered their time to prepare and serve the traditional Thanksgiving fare. Among them were Willie  Bizzle, Jonathan Tarullo, Tracy Johnson, Mike Brown, Kenneth Thomas, George Stinson and Steve Stinson.

They were joined by friends and family, including Barbara Owings and two seventh-graders from Holy Trinity School — Evan Vetter, whose uncles (the Stinsons) work at the restaurant, and Nick Poole, Vetter’s friend.

Gabriele is a member of the Cathedral of the Assumption. He estimates the restaurant has shared these Thanksgiving meals at the cathedral for about 20 years as a way to give back to the community.
