Second collection will benefit Catholic higher education

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

May God bless you! The annual collection for Catholic higher education will be conducted in all parishes of the Archdiocese this weekend.

Bellarmine University, Catholic University of America, Saint Catharine College, and Spalding University will benefit from the proceeds of this collection.

These institutions strive to encourage persons of all ages to pursue excellence and to examine their values in the light of the Gospel and the common good. The ability to bring together faith and reason in a Catholic environment is especially important as we seek to go out and share the Gospel in today’s world.

Your help will allow many students to attend a Catholic university who otherwise might be deprived of this opportunity. I invite you to support this educational mission of our Church. The colleges and universities join me in expressing their gratitude for your gifts.

Sincerely yours in our Lord,
Most Reverend
Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D.
Archbishop of Louisville
