Nazareth Retreat Center is inviting young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 to apply for a scholarship to attend “Called to Hope,” an interactive retreat led by Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Caroljean Willie, program director for Earth Connection, an environmental center in Cincinnati.
Through a combination of presentations, music, art, poetry and contemplative silence, retreatants will be “guided through an overview of what the Catholic Church teaches about caring for all creation and experience an invitation into Earth’s call for transformation and healing,” according to an announcement from the Nazareth Retreat Center.
The retreat will take place at the center on the Motherhouse campus in Nazareth, Ky., from 4 p.m. June 24 to 12:30 p.m. June 26. The scholarship will cover the cost of the retreat, including meals and accommodations.
Applicants must submit an essay by June 11 reflecting on the question, “Why would you like to learn more about social justice and the environment?” to ldowns@scnky.org or by mail to Nazareth Retreat Center, P.O. Box 7, Nazareth, Ky., 40048
