Sacred Heart Model School seeks nominations for several awards

Sacred Heart Model School is seeking nominations for its 2014 Alumnus of the Year Award and other awards.

The Alumnus of the Year award recognizes a graduate who has made significant contributions to society. Nominees must have graduated at least 10 years ago. Individuals who graduated 20 or fewer years ago are eligible for another honor —the Young Alumnus Achievement Award.

The school also is seeking nominees for the Former Faculty Award, which honors an educator who taught at the school full-time for at least five years. The Former Parent Award honors parents who contributed “tremendous time and talent” to the school community, an announcement from the school said.
An honorary diploma may also be given to a person whose devotion to the school is “equal to completing the requirements for a diploma,” the announcement said.

The awards will be presented at the school’s 2014 All Class Alumni Back to Campus event on Oct. 12.

Nominations must be submitted by April 24 to Nanette Mershon, SHMS Alumni Director, at 3177 Lexington Road, Louisville, Ky., 40206, or emailed to nmershon@shslou.org.
