Sacred Heart Model School won the Catholic Schools Academic League’s (CSAL) sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade Quick Recall tournament held Nov. 5 at St. Albert the Great School, 1395 Girard Drive. And, Holy Trinity School was named the winner in the CSAL’s sixth-grade Quick Recall tournament, which was held Nov. 3 at St. Paul School, 6901 Dixie Highway.
In the sixth-, seventh- and eight-grade division, Sacred Heart Model School defeated St. Albert-Blue in one semi-final match 32-26, and St. Raphael defeated St. Edward 28-26 in the other semi-final match. In a rematch of the same two schools from the 2014 finals, Sacred Heart Model School defeated St. Raphael in the championship match 28-23 to win the tournament for the second consecutive year.
Forty teams from 27 schools participated in the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade league this season.
In the sixth-grade division, Holy Trinity-White defeated St. Albert-Blue 24-18 in one semi-final match. In the other semi-final match, Holy Spirit-Red defeated St. Paul 31-19. Holy Trinity-White then defeated Holy Spirit-Red in the final match 24-20.
Twenty-seven teams from 20 schools participated in the sixth-grade league this year.
