Repaired tabernacle blessed

Tabernacle-SHH-2017-s

A newly repaired tabernacle in the chapel of Sacred Heart Home was blessed by Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz Feb. 22. The tabernacle came from the old Marine Hospital in Portland, according to an announcement from Sacred Heart Home. It is believed to be a replica of one presented by King Louis Phillippe of France to Bishop Benedict Joseph Flaget, first bishop of the Diocese of Bardstown, Ky., forerunner to the Louisville Archdiocese. The original tabernacle formerly resided in this marble altar, the announcement said. (Photo Special to The Record)
