A record-setting Crusade for Children

The 63rd annual WHAS Crusade for Children raised more than $5.4 million by the time the collection ended on June 5.

The Archdiocese of Louisville had its highest collection ever, raising $301,581.

The top parish contributions from within Jefferson County came from St. Michael Church with $20,752, St. Martha Church with $17,960 and St. Albert the Great Church with $14,751.

Outside Jefferson County, the top contributions came from St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Ky., with $6,606; Immaculate Conception Church in La Grange, Ky., with $6,106 and St. Aloysius Church in Pewee Valley, Ky., with $4,188.

As an in-kind contribution, students from St. Xavier High School, below, took the night shift, serving as the production crew from 11:30 p.m. June 4 until 6 a.m. June 5.
