Program will highlight post-Vatican II popes

A program called “Celebrating the Popes of Our Time — From Pope St. John XXIII to Pope Francis,” will be presented at St. Francis of Assisi Church’s parish hall, 1960 Bardstown Road, on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.

In honor of the new October feast days of St. John XXIII  (Oct. 11) and St. John Paul II (Oct. 22), three priests will discuss the popes since Vatican II and answer questions. The presenters will be Father Joseph Merkt, a retired professor; Father Lou Meiman, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi and Father John Burke, pastor of Good Shepherd Church.
