Passionist Father Francis Cusack dies at 86

Passionist Father Francis Cusack, 86, died June 1 at Nazareth Home. He celebrated his 58th anniversary as a priest the day before his death.

He professed vows in 1951 and was ordained a priest on May 31, 1958. He served in various ministerial roles in Passionist administration in Michigan, Illinois and Kentucky.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, he served at St. Agnes Church from 1961-1968, 1987-1991 and 2012 until his death. He also served as the local superior of the Passionist Monastery in Louisville from 1987-1991 and 1995-1996. He also served as the assistant local superior in Louisville from 2015 until his death.

The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated June 4 at St. Agnes. Following cremation, interment will be at the Passionist Cemetery, located on the St. Agnes campus, at a later date.
