‘Outstanding’ high school seniors honored by mayor

RecordLogo-FNine Catholic school students were among those honored by Mayor Greg Fischer at the annual Outstanding High School Seniors Award ceremony May 8 at Louisville Metro Hall.

The award is presented to students “who have excelled in and out of the classroom,” according to a statement from the mayor’s office. “These students have shown resiliency and a commitment to learning and to compassion,” said Mayor Fischer. “We celebrate them and we hold them up as models for other students in the community.”

The awardees are: Sarah Metzger, Assumption High School; Thomas Crawford, Bethlehem High School; Garrett Alvey, DeSales High School; Allison Haycraft, Holy Cross High School; Rebecca Dever, Mercy Academy; Vivian Bowles, Presentation Academy; Anna-Maria Beck, Sacred Heart Academy; Patrick McSweeney, St. Xavier High School; and Zachary Allen, Trinity High School.
