Nine Catholic school students honored as ‘unsung’ heroes

Nine Catholic school students were among 48 seniors who received the Rotary Club of Louisville’s Unsung Hero award.

The award is given to students “whose high school experience has reflected dedication to service above self, working behind the scenes and seldom, if ever, stepping into the limelight,” according to a press release from the Rotary Club.

Award winners and their high schools include the following:
Sophia Biagi, Assumption High School; Carlos Ordway, DeSales High School; Evan McCarthy, Holy Angels Academy; Katelynn Hickey, Holy Cross High School; Nicole Smith, Mercy Academy; Makayla Davis, Presentation Academy; Margaret Glaser, Sacred Heart Academy; Samuel Thompson, St. Xavier High School; Ryan Biddle, Trinity High School.

The award recipients were honored during an event at the Muhammad Ali Center earlier in the spring.
