Record Staff Report

Nativity Academy at St. Boniface has created the Lisa Brents Scholarship Fund in memory of TaLisa Brents, the school’s counselor, who died April 9 from cancer.

The school said in a statement on social media that Brents “faithfully served and supported the students, graduates and families of Nativity Academy at St. Boniface for eight years. She always saw the best in each person and encouraged them in her positive, encouraging manner.”

Nativity Academy is an independent Catholic school that serves children from low-income families in fifth- through eighth-grade. Nativity also works with students in high school and college through its graduate support program.
