Multicultural ministry office to host back to school fair July 29

The Office of Multicultural Ministry (OMM) will hold its 12th annual Community Back to School & College Fair on July 29 from 10 a.m. until supplies run out at the Catholic Enrichment Center (CEC), 3146 West Broadway.

The OMM will also accept school supplies and monetary donations prior to the event. They can be dropped off at the Maloney Center, 1200 S. Shelby Street or the CEC.

The event is designed “to assist our youth with a successful start to their school year” by providing pencils, pens, paper, spiral notebooks, folders, markers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, glue, backpacks and other school supplies, said a news release from OMM. Free haircuts will also be offered from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The event and all of the supplies are free to the public. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Representatives of local colleges and universities will be on hand to provide information about higher education. For more information, call 471-2146 or 776-0262.
