Mercy Sister Mary Rosalia Schroering dies in Louisville May 7

Sister of Mercy Mary Rosalia Schroering, 89, died May 7 in Louisville. She had been a Sister of Mercy for 72 years.

Sister Schroering served in elementary and secondary education in Cincinnati, Springfield, and Columbus, Ohio, and in the Archdiocese of Louisville.  She served at both Mercy Academy and Assumption High School and after serving in parish ministry she directed business services at Sacred Heart Home in Louisville and at Marcum & Wallace Hospital in Irvine, Ky.

Sister Schroering also served with Project AIMM, the Sister Visitor Center, Shively Area Ministries, Day Spring Baxter Ave., and she assisted new refugee families sponsored by Catholic Charities.

Survivors include her Mercy Community and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. May 10 at St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
