Mercy Academy presented two leadership awards at Nov. 2 luncheon

Mercy Academy held its annual Leadership Luncheon on Nov. 2 and presented two awards: the Mercy Community Leadership Award and the Mercy Academy Lasting Efforts Award.

According to a news release, the Community Leadership Award is presented to someone whose “leadership in service impacts the community and serves as a positive role model for Mercy students.” It was presented to Joan Smith, founder and executive director of LifeHouse.

The Lasting Efforts Award, established in 2012, recognizes “a member of the Mercy community who generously gives their time, talent and treasure” to ensure the goals of the academy are met on a daily basis and who also helps plan for future generations of Mercy students.”

This year’s recipients are Barbara Breckheimer Rasche, class of 1961, and her husband, Richard.
