Meg Booker wins Black History Month vocal competition

Meg Booker, a member of St. John Paul II Church, placed second in Bellarmine University’s 11th annual Black History Month Traditional Negro Spiritual Voice Competition.

Booker, 17, sang two selections — Mozart’s “Alleluia” from “Exultate Jubilate” and “Ain’t That Good News” arranged by Robert Sadin.

The contest took place Feb. 24 at Bellarmine.
