The Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministry and its African Ministries will offer a Swahili Mass (Kiswahili Misa) on Dec. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church, 3112 West Broadway. Apostle of Jesus Father Deogratias Ssamba will preside. All are welcome.
Swahili is a Bantu language widely used as a lingua franca (a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different) in East Africa and has official status in several countries.
The Mass in Swahili will begin a regular rotation in the coming year. For further details, call the Office of Multicultural Ministry at 471-2146.
