Louisville native marks 50th anniversary of priesthood ordination

Father Tom Zoeller, a native of Louisville, recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.

Father Zoeller attended St. Augustine’s Seminary in Scarborough, Ontario. He was ordained a priest for the Madonna House Apostolate, a center for formation and hospitality located in Combermere, Ontario, in May 1967.

He has served in parish ministry in Regina, Saskatchewan, on the Canadian prairies; ministered to the poor and hungry at Marian Centre in Edmonton, Alberta; and served as a chaplain to a Christian Family Movement group. He also served in Madonna House’s missionary field houses, Robin Hood’s Bay in England and Whitehouse in the Yukon territory of Canada.

Since 1999, he has lived and served at Madonna House’s Training Centre in Combermere. He assists in the “formation of staff and the many guests who are seeking to know God and to deepen their lives in Him,” wrote Father Zoeller in a personal reflection.
