Local students may apply for Marian scholarship

Marian University in Indianapolis is partnering with the Archdiocese of Louisville to offer one high school senior a four-year academic scholarship worth more than $120,000.

The scholarship will be awarded to a student who commits to the university’s San Damiano Scholars program, which prepares students for leadership positions in the church, according to a statement from the school.

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, students must be admitted to Marian University no later than Nov. 1 and demonstrate a record of leadership and community service.

Leisa Schulz, superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Louisville, said “The archdiocese has many talented high school graduates who aspire to use their gifts in service of the church,” she said. “This scholarship will provide an exceptional opportunity to a deserving student.”
