Local priest invested in Catholic order of knighthood

Father David Cockson

Father David Cockson, pastor of St. Ignatius Martyr Church, was invested as a knight-priest of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem on Sept. 29 at the Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, Mich.

According to an announcement from the order, members pledge a “life-long commitment to support Christians in the Holy Land and the works of the Catholic Church in the Middle East.”

The designation “is only accorded to those select Catholics who are known in their community for living lives commensurate with the traditional teachings of the Catholic Church,” according to the announcement.
